Millennials atau kadang juga disebut dengan generasi Y sekelompok orang yang lahir pada kisaran tahun 1981- 2000 an awal Millenials adalah generasi muda yang berumur 17- 37 pada tahun ini Generasi millenials memiliki ciri khas tersendiri yaitu, sangat mahir dalam teknologi.

Dalam kata sambutannya Ir. M. Yamin Siregar, MM menyatakan , maksud dan tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah meningkatkan minat para millenial muda untuk berpartisipasi dalam perkembangan ekonomi di Indonesia. Karena skill yang dimiliki para millenial saat ini sangat berpengaruh pada pengembangan ekonomi kita kedepannya. Teknologi menjadi poin penting dalam kegiatan ini, dan para millenial ini memiliki skill tersebut untuk diterapkan bersama dengan perkembangan ekonomi kita.

Lebih dari 34% dari total populasi penduduk Indonesia termasuk dalam generasi millennial . Ternyata generasi ini juga masih terbagi kedalam lima tipe yang berbeda yakni , Nerd Millenial , True Millenial , Mass Millenial , Alay Millenial, dan Anti-Millenial.

  1. Nerd Millenial sebanyak 7,4 %, Nerd milenial adalah mereka yang termasuk dalam golongan milenial secara fisik dan umur, tapi kurang gaul.
    2. True Millenial sebanyak 22,7% ; milenial sebenar-benarnya milenial dengan gayanya yang selalu kekinian dan gadget yang lengkap. paham semua jenis kamera mirrorless terbaru dan fitur-fitur Samsung Galaxy maupun iPhone yang mahal itu.
    3. Mass Millenial sebanyak 41,8%  Walaupun millenial, namun mereka sangat “nanggung”, meski begitu merupakan tipe milenial paling banyak di Indonesia. secara umum bisa menggunakan internet, cukup mengikuti perkembangan gadget, namun aktif di media sosial tidak seintens True Millenial.
    4. Alay Millenial sebanyak 9,3%, milenial yang beginimemangmelekteknologidansangatterikatdengankehidupan media sosialmerekaselaluberbagi status atau story di Instagram
    5. Anti-Millenial sebanyak 18,9%  Hanya fisik dan umurnya saja yang masuk kedalam golongan milenial. Tingkah laku dan pola pikir mereka justru old-school alias kekunoan bukan kekinian.

Bukan hanya hard skill atau keahlian utama dalam suatu pekerjaan, tetap juga soft skill, antara lain :
1. Melek teknologi, terutama media social bukan hanya scrolling down tapi perlu paham apa saja konten media sosial yang menarik dan bisa mempengaruhi para netizen.
2. Generasi muda harus memiliki kemampuan mengatasi masalah atau problem solving.
3. Manajemen waktu yang efektif, sehingga penggunaan waktu menjadi lebih produktif
